Terms of Service
Last updated October 27, 2026
These terms cover your use of zot, the iPhone app and the AI assistant that works with your household. By using zot, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use zot.
Your account and household
You need an account to use zot, and you’re responsible for what happens under it. When you create or join a household, the other members can see the group chat, notes, checklists, calendar, reminders and what zot remembers. Only invite people you want to share that with.
What zot does
zot is an AI assistant. It answers questions, keeps notes, lists and a calendar, sets reminders, and can carry out tasks on the web with its own browser, email address and computer. AI makes mistakes. zot can misunderstand a request, get a fact wrong or miss something. Check anything important, such as prices, dates, medical, legal or financial information, before you rely on it.
Approvals and actions on your behalf
zot asks your household to approve before it buys, books, submits or sends anything. When someone in your household approves, they authorize zot to take that action for the household, and the household is responsible for it, including any charges, cancellations or fees from the site involved. Read the approval before you tap Approve.
When zot uses a website or service for you, that site’s own terms apply. Only save logins and ask zot to use services where that’s allowed, and where you have the right to do so.
Acceptable use
Don’t use zot to break the law, harm or harass anyone, get into accounts or systems you aren’t allowed to use, send spam, or get around a site’s security measures. Don’t try to interfere with zot’s systems or use them to attack others. We may limit or suspend use that breaks these rules or puts the service at risk.
Your content
What you and your household put into zot stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and transmit it as needed to run zot for you, including sending it to the providers described in our Privacy Policy.
Limits on the service
zot has limits, such as a daily cap on how much work it does for a household. We’re always improving zot and may change, add or remove features. We may also stop offering zot, and if we do we’ll give reasonable notice where we can.
Disclaimers
zot is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t promise that zot will be uninterrupted, error free, or that its answers or actions will be accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for losses that come from actions you or your household approved, from third-party sites or services, or from relying on zot’s answers. Our total liability for any claim about zot is limited to the amount you paid us for zot in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if that’s more.
Ending your use
You can stop using zot at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above, and for significant changes we’ll let you know in the app. Using zot after a change means you accept the new terms.
